Going Off to Kindergarten

While we are busy registering families for preschool, it is almost time for our four-year old friends to register for Kindergarten. If you are planning to enter the public school system, here are a few important dates to mark on your calendars.

February 20: Online pre-registration for Kindergarten students

March 21: Kindergarten registration

You can save time by pre-registering your child here. You will still need to officially register in-person at your designated school. Call your child’s school to schedule an appointment to register on March 21 to avoid having to wait in line.

You will need to provide some documentation at your appointment. Be sure to bring the following:

  • Birth Certificate

  • Parent/Guardian Photo ID

  • Proof of Residence (signed deed, signed lease, or mortgage statement)

  • Custody papers, if needed

Before school begins in August, you will need to submit a physical/immunization form, so don’t forget to schedule any necessary appointments and give your physician’s office plenty of time to complete and return the forms to you.
