Leigh Pappalardo, Lead Teacher
This is my 8th year teaching preschool and it gets better each and every year! I received my degree in psychology from the College of William and Mary where I met my husband Tom. We now have two high schoolers who have long ago surpassed us in math skills and keep us busy watching soccer games and swim meets. I am proud to be a teacher at Galilee and to share my love of learning about the world through play with my students. My favorite part of the week is Geography Friday when we take imaginative journeys around the world. Aside from curious preschoolers, my favorite things are books, birds, and college football.
Amy Messick, Assistant Teacher M/T
This is my first year assisting in a preschool classroom, however, I have been volunteering in Loudoun County preschools and elementary schools for 10 years. I received my degree in marketing management from Fordham University. My husband Scott and I have four children ranging in age from 1st grade to 8th grade. We are always in an audience, on a sideline, or near the ice watching our children do what they love. My favorite things are the beach, reading, and catching the latest movie.
Kelly Shirafkan, Assistant Teacher W-F
This is my first year as an assistant in a preschool classroom, although I am no stranger to Galilee as two of my three girls attended preschool here! My father’s Air Force career took us from Hawaii to South Korea growing up, then I moved to Loudoun County at the age of 12. I did not travel far from home to receive my degree in Criminal Justice from George Mason University. My husband and I have 3 playful soccer and gymnastics loving girls in elementary school. My favorite things are family, photography, and reading.
